What are the safety requirements to drive my car on the track?
1) Car must be teched prior to being allowed on the track.
2) Car must no be leaking any kind of fluids.
3) Battery must be bolted down. No Bungie Cords!
4) Tires must be of the same manufacturer and tread pattern with more than 2/32 to start the day. Race tires must not have any cords showing.
5) 3 point seat belts are fine. Race belts are ok if in good condition. The driver must be able to offer the same belts as he/she is wearing to a passenger.
What about numbers for my car? Numbers will be supplied for your car at check in. Place them on the rear quarter windows, and if you don't have any, place the numbers in the high, center of your windshield.
What will happen to my car? There are wear parts that will see some wear. Namely tires and brakes. If you are running a street tire, there should not be much wear. At Pacific, you may use up to 6mm of brake pad. If you have to change tires or brakes at the track because of wear, that is a great day! There may also be some black marks from tire clagg. This is easily removed with a product like goof off or 3M adhesive cleaner.
Are these events marque specific? No, we love all cars. At our events, we have Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches, Hondas, VWs, Corvettes, and Race Cars of all makes. It is kind of a great car show!
Do I bring my own car or do I drive yours? Ummmm. You get to drive your own car. We will accept any car that will pass the tech inspection and is not an SUV, pickup or open wheel car.
Will I crash my car? That is entirely up to you. We don't recommend it. If you do put 2 or more wheels off of the asphalt, you will be required to come in for a short inspection. If there is any kind of gravel between the wheel and tire, there may be a rapid tire deflation. This is bad. Safety first.
What is a spin rule? We have a 2 spin rule. Anyone can spin a car once. If a car spins a second time, this driver is being unsafe and will be removed from the track event.
What are the passing rules? The advanced run group can pass anywhere anytime with a point to pass. The intermediate group can join the advanced groups rule after lunch. The intermediate and low intermediate group will be point to pass in designated areas only.
Is there gas at the track? Pacific Raceways has pumps on site. Be prepared to pay as it is race gas. If you are running catalytic converters or oxygen sensors, do not run the leadded gas as it may ruin them.
Can two people share a car? Yup. Please sign up in two different run groups and keep an eye on the wear parts.
Can I bring a passenger? Yup. In the intermediate and advanced groups. We request that you drive 7/10 and no redneck famous last words.
